The passage below is one so many today sitting in places of worship, or who believe themselves to be ‘good’ Christians, should read. After they’ve read it, they need to sit in the quiet to reflect and contemplate. Really, reflect and contemplate. Not for two minutes, but at length.
21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matthew 7:21-23
It is a very sad fact that many followers, and even leaders, within Christian religions are totally unaware they are most likely one of those mentioned in this passage. How dare you, I hear many of you cry, but it is true.
Most people believe if they are baptised, go to church, belong to the ‘right’ religion, pray, speak to God, ask Him for all they want or need that this is enough to save them. It isn’t. None of it is.
A huge majority, yes, a huge majority of people sitting in places of worship are further from God than many who don’t go to church, don’t necessarily believe in God and who don’t pray. They won’t believe this fact, will get angry at having it said to them, but will close their minds totally to anyone trying to teach them why this is.
They don’t want to listen to facts and truth as they believe just those things mentioned enough to save them. The more I read religious threads on places like the Vatican page or any other religious one, the more I worry about the state of people’s souls. It never ceases to astound me how many say in comments on various threads they are saved if they believe in ‘Jesus’, because they belong to a particular religion or because they pray.
What is even worse, is that no priests or religious anywhere seem to be bothering to teach them how wrong they are, how deluded and how much in danger they are of losing their souls due to this way of thinking.
Where is leadership, guidance and counsel in today’s Church? Why are so many priests not doing their jobs properly? When did people become so complacent and lazy about nourishing their souls, about looking deep within to see if they are as good, or trying as hard to be good in the ways God asks of them.
Many are wonderful followers of their own religions. They are incredibly faithful to them, but how many are obeying their religion while forgetting to obey God? Most of them, because most religions demand loyalty to the faith you’re in first and foremost. A teaching that is highly offensive to God. Worship and obedience belongs to God alone, not a religion.
If you feel yourself to be of a superior religion to others, to be of the only true faith, then you are one of the above warned about. If you believe being baptised, going to church now and then or even regularly means you’re saved. You are wrong.
If you think saying the names Jesus and Mary enough times saves you, you’re wrong. If you love and follow the drama of false mystics and visionaries without ever testing them or what they claim or say, you are one of the above.
If you believe saying you’re born again or worshipping only Jesus, you are one of those God talks of. Gushing out a few prayers now and then, or even saying prayers in a heartfelt way, is not enough. Going to church services or meetings, religious pilgrimage sites whether genuine or not, is not enough. Nowhere near enough.
I have tried so hard to teach people how to save their souls, but so many refuse to listen in the mistaken belief they don’t need saving because they’re already saved. How this concerns me deeply, how this concerns me that no priests are correcting this way of thinking and not teaching about such matters, no schools, no homes, nothing, nowhere.
One day, I will go out and teach such matters to the masses, or I hope I will. I already know from decades of doing this work that very few will listen or want to know such is their spiritual pride and ego. The only time they’ll listen, is if they believe me to be a mystic working for God; if I am eventually seen to have foretold many things that will come true and that already have.
The sad truth is, God is not enough for most people unless He comes with magic and is easy to do or follow. A fair-weather one is all they want in preference of doing their own thing in whatever way that pleases them and that’s easiest.
Following God properly is not easy. It’s not meant to be and never will be. Anything worth having or doing well has to be worked at and is often very hard indeed. If you’re finding following God is easy to do, you’re not doing it properly. If you think part time worship, prayer or devotion is enough, you’re not doing it properly. If your life comes first and foremost with God just slotted in when you have time, you’re not doing it properly.
One day, I hope to be out there teaching en masse. One day, I hope from the bottom of my heart to be able to reach deep into people that they see and hear what is being shown and told them. God gave us all free will which is ours to use as we please. How sad that free will is rarely used to get to know Him on a much deeper level. How sad that free will is rarely used to truly feed and nourish one’s soul in order to save it. How sad that free will is only used to follow their own ways and thinking rather than His.
One day, I pray I can reach far more people. One day, I pray they will listen. One day, I hope more and more will start to recognise what they’re doing isn’t enough. One day, I hope they’ll start doing as God asks of them rather than their religion that is sadly, far too often just about following and obeying their chosen religion rather than God.
One day dear God, I pray their eyes, ears and hearts will be opened. One day I hope souls will be saved, that they’ll recognise how important their soul is and how they’ve neglected to nourish it.
