Last time I talked about the soul and what I perceived it to be like and this time, I said I would talk about one’s spirit’. To me, the spirit of a person is their energy. Energy is different in everyone we meet. No two people have the same about or within them and their energy levels are unique to them.
It is this energy that psychics and mediums can tap into in order to do psychic readings. As I explained in another post and book, this is nothing to do with mediumship and is something all of us can learn to do to varying levels should we so wish.
The spirit within someone also denotes their character. When it is said about the ‘discernment of spirits’, it isn’t just meant to be about those who have died, but also about those who are still living in this world. Who has a good spirit within them and who hasn’t. By having a spirit within them, I do not mean another entity, I am still talking about their own energy, which is also called the spirit of the person.
Is a person of a good nature; miserable, happy, positive, negative, hard-working, lazy? All these are traits in a person and contained within their spirit. It is this energy that goes with them when they die together with the soul. A person can be pure of heart and well-intentioned, but the spirit can be weak. It also can work the other way around. So you see, the two need to be together during a life on earth to make the whole person and it is the combination of the two together that makes us different from each other.
The spirit is different to the soul as the spirit is what gives us our personality and is more superficial, whereas the soul is something that goes much deeper within. The spirit is often only with us for one lifetime, but the soul is with us throughout. This again is very brief for the purpose of a post, but the next part, will be about our soul and spirit after death.
