God Loves Us, but Does He Like Us?

There are so many false teachers using God’s and Jesus’ names to spread untruths that can lead to losing one’s soul. Pages, websites, podcasts and more are set up by false teachers saying that God likes us just as we are. No, He often doesn’t. Loving and liking are not the same thing, no matter how much these  people tell us they are.

We are here to learn, to grow, to become as perfect as we can be in God’s eyes. In order to do that, we need to take a long hard look at ourselves, our words, deeds and thoughts. It’s no good going to places of worship, saying prayers or telling people how much you love God and that you’re a Christian if you’re not prepared to put the work in that He asks of us. Those things alone do nothing for our personal growth or our souls. They alone will not secure our fate on leaving this world.

What are known as ‘bible bashers’ or evangelists are no different. All they do is quote from the bible without actually teaching properly. They often twist what they quote to fit in with their own ideas, their own made up religious beliefs and over zealousness which can change the whole meaning. Calling yourself a pastor, does not make you a teacher either. Some leaders are good, but the majority aren’t.

Evangelists for example, often standing in huge auditoriums get quite neurotic as they shout and get over excited while quoting scriptures – and often become very rich from doing so. Their audiences shout back with loud hallelujah’s and act just as fanatical and neurotic as the one standing on the stage ‘performing’. None of this is genuine, real or helping true spiritual growth or nourishment of one’s soul. They all just pretend it is.

Let’s face it, there are so many denominations under one banner with differing ideas being taught to their followers and yet all are calling themselves Christians. What actually is Christianity when those calling themselves by that name and claiming to be under that banner are all divided, contradicting and even hating each other? How can any of it lead us to God, to His heavenly kingdom when all these different religions twist and change words given to us in order to fit with their own ideas in order to make it what they want it to be?

The word Catholic means universal. The word Protestant means to protest. Doesn’t that alone tell its own story? What once was universal and joined together as one, became split, divided and disjointed over and over again. Sadly, even the Universal Church chose to add their own rules too in order to control and make things fit with their own ideology.

None is perfect, as none is purely about obeying only God, but at least that Universal Church stays closer to His laws than any of the others. It too needs cleaning up, but wherever mankind is involved and interferes, perfection will never be attainable. Each time someone chose to ignore God’s laws and teachings Jesus gave us while here, yet another religion was made up more to man’s liking.

Jesus was a Jew. People profess to love and adore Jesus, yet those same people despise Jews because they chose to crucify Him. How can that be right? Does Jesus teach us to hate Jews? No, He doesn’t, I don’t, they are good people. With His last breaths He asked His Father to forgive them as they knew not what they were doing. With those words, He was teaching us all to forgive, not to hate, not to divide. He taught us His suffering, torture and death had to happen and why. He taught us while here that not all would know Him or His Father, that we’d all come by different paths, but the one thing most important was love, was charity.

Coming by different paths does not mean people under one banner all fighting, hating, dividing and trying to be superior to each other as we see now. It does not mean twisting God’s laws or Jesus’ teachings to suit ourselves or our chosen lifestyles then making up a different religion to fit as has been done over and over with Christianity.

It is time the division of ALL religions stopped, that so much hate, superiority over others and their beliefs or unbelief’s stopped, that twisting of God’s laws stopped. Anyone twisting everything to please people or themselves is not pleasing God, they’re pleasing only themselves and mankind. They are not teaching anything that will help save souls, they’re teaching how to lose them.

It’s time people were honest, time they thought for themselves rather than being led unquestioningly. It is time persecution of others stopped. Religion is not God, it is man made. It is because it’s man made we see so much badness and even corruption in what should be beyond such things. It is why we see so much division, so much superiority and so much else that’s far removed from being anything of God.

Religion is not God, yet people think it is. God’s Church is His people. Every person He created. Religion is something man made for those professing to love and serve Him. Twisting words of the bible to suit is not of God, it is suiting mankind. So many differences in every Christian bible with books cut out, words changed all to suit what man prefers it to be instead. If they are all claiming to be Christian, how come all their bibles are different?

Do you follow God, or do you follow man? Do you listen to God’s laws or make up your own, following others who do the same! Do you listen to ALL the teachings His only Son, Jesus was sent here to teach us, or do you, like so many today, pick and choose only the bits you do or don’t like?

Choose wisely who or what you believe in and follow. Is what you’re being taught in keeping with God and with Jesus’ teachings? Is it dividing you from others, making you feel superior, filled with hate towards others, or is it uniting you with everyone, making you love them, be accepting of them regardless, especially if their lives are different from your own?

God gave us all free will. He loves all of us, even those who don’t know Him, but He doesn’t like all of us or our deeds, words and thoughts. That is why we are given a chance till our last breath to change and repent. Truly repent. Love is one thing and should be unconditional to be true, but liking is a very different thing altogether. Whichever you choose will decide your fate. Following religion can be good, but not if done blindly and unquestioningly. You need to discern which parts are of God and which parts are of man. You owe it to yourself to do so, but most of all, you owe it to God.
