I want so desperately to work for God, have tried my hardest to teach about Him and guide others, but no one listens but a few. No one cares as what I teach doesn’t pander to them and make them feel good about themselves. My work and words makes them look deeper, look inside to their souls and what’s in them. It makes them see their flaws and failings in ways they don’t want to see them. Instead, they want to be told their own idea of spirituality is all that’s needed, no matter how warped or twisted their idea of it is; no matter how far removed from God.
The problem is, so few want God today, as all they can see with Him is that He expects them to work on themselves and they don’t want to. They think they’re already perfect, already saved. Those who believe in Him think going to church or other places of worship is all they need do. Throw a few prayers in the mix in between times and hey voila, deed done. Well, it’s not deed done. None of that with such an attitude will achieve a thing.
They have to be taught, they need to listen, but they’ll only listen if drama is involved and theatre shows such as seen at Medjugorje. God isn’t about theatre and drama, yet that’s what people want. They want permanent miracles, permanent visions, permanent visitations offering worthless words with no real meaning or teachings within them.
Well, this isn’t enough. None of this is right or good enough if people want to save their souls. How can we reach them? Why are so few priests and religious doing their job properly today? So many either too busy pandering to the needs such as those at Medjugorje have or just too lazy to bother helping, guide or teach these days. In some ways I can understand why. They’re burnt out and tired. So few priest now, no real vocations happening and with so many churches being closed they’re stretched too far. They’re burnt out, tired with too much asked of them.
Others are too weak. They don’t know how to lead and refuse to test a thing nor seek further themselves. They, like so many followers, worship their religion and rules rather than God. They don’t look further or beyond Church teachings. Where is the love for God that inspired them to go into the priesthood in the first place? Has it been dragged out of them and dumbed down by too many bishops or cardinals not doing their own jobs properly and making bad demands of their parish priests?
Whatever it is that’s happening, the Church as a body is in a mess. It’s in danger more and more as it falls into the ways of bad leadership, weak leaders and half-hearted wishy-washy love for God. A wishy-washy love that means very little and is on surface only.
It’s time passion for God was put back into people’s lives. It’s time they were taught what God really asks of them. It’s time they were taught how to love and worship Him without need for miracles and drama. It’s time they were taught to test the spirits of not just those who claim to be in communion with heaven and heavenly brings, but the spirit within themselves. The spirit that strengthens, guides, makes us want to seek deeper, stretch ourselves; a spirit that wants us to nourish our souls, be more as God, more as His holy Son who came here to live life as we do in order to show us the way.
A man made to suffer in ways we do, go through earthly sufferings and trials as we do. A man who taught us how love for His Father was never ending, unconditional and to be given with the depth of His being no matter what was asked of Him and no matter what His earthly trials were. He had the strength, the courage and tenacity to teach us all, guide us, try to show us what was expected of us if we wanted to save our souls.
He was sent to show us what real love for our Father in heaven should be like. How serving Him, loving Him, wanting to one day be with Him in Paradise was and is earned. It isn’t earned by going to church once a week or spouting a few prayers half-heartedly when we want something. It takes far more than that. It takes real hard work and unless we’re prepared to put in that hard work, how can we expect rewards at the end of our lives?
It is these things and far more I’m told I’m to teach about, but how? I’ve already tried for many years and no one wants to hear it. They prefer people making them feel good about themselves. They want platitudes not truth, they want falseness not honesty, they want promises of salvation that are unable to be kept, they want anything but the truth that will help save them and it’s these truths I’m to take to them I’m told. This is how my work is to start, but it is to bring far more besides. When and how? I wait to see.
