It seems very few are still interested in God from all I see. Of those who say they are, far too many have changed Him into something they prefer, find easier to follow or they just ignore His laws totally. Protestants have a Church far removed from being anything of God these days with their ‘believers’ making it up as they go along changing everything at whim.
Catholics are getting to be the same it’s sad to say. They’re still the only one of the faiths calling themselves Christian that sticks to most of God’s laws rather than mankind’s demands, but they’ve lost their way too in so many ways with too many weak leaders.
Far too much is being watered down in order to appease people, leaders aren’t teaching or guiding as they should, they often pander to the love of mystery and drama their parishioners can’t get enough of and there are far too many saints made every week. Saints who aren’t real saints in their desperation of trying to attract as many followers as they can of all ages but for all the wrong reasons.
God is good, God is never changing, no matter how many people demand He changes with the times. He is not old fashioned, nor is He modern, He is timeless and suits every age and era the world lives in and goes through. He is not to be watered down, nor His laws changed or twisted to suit. He is what He is and His laws should be exactly the same now as they were in the beginning, so why aren’t they?
It’s because we have far too many very weak leaders and far too many weak followers; people who only want God in their lives if He’s easy to follow and if it means they can live life how they please, excusing everything so they can make it fit.
Following, obeying and loving God is not easy. He never pretended it would be. It should be simple, but mankind makes it harder than it needs be. We have ten laws to follow, ten, but people find them too hard.
Christ warned us how hard life could and would be with many hardships and challenges facing us as we go through life. Didn’t He Himself suffer dreadful hardships, sufferings, pain, betrayal and a dreadful death? Look how He lived during it all, how He still stayed true to His Father, how He accepted all those trials, that suffering. Did He too not call out asking why His Father seemed to have forsaken Him?
So if God sent His only Son to live amongst us, to lead the way, to teach us, guide us and show how suffering and hardships should be accepted, borne with dignity, strength and lived each day without question, why do so many today think it should be different for them? Why do they insist everything is made to fit their whims, demands and ideas? Why do they think they shouldn’t have to suffer, struggle or face hardships?
If all these things were good enough for Christ to endure and go through, they’re good enough for us. If He could persevere and still obey and love His Father, why do we think we should be different and not have to go through such things?
It is by suffering, having hardships and how we behave during such times that shows the world and God what we’re made of; whether we’re worthy of His love, faithfulness, forgiveness and mercy. Some people suffer very little in life, a few suffer unimaginable continued hardships, pain and suffering, and most others something in between.
Of those who remain most loyal, it’s usually the ones who have the worst sufferings imaginable to go through in life. Continued, pain, struggles, grief, sadness, badness aimed against them and so much more. It’s they who offer it all up to God and accept and understand why it’s happening to them. It’s they who never question, complain or say there can’t be any God if He allows such things.
Instead of complaining, they understand, they offer thanksgiving, they accept. It doesn’t mean they don’t suffer, for they do. It doesn’t mean they don’t cry in private, feel weak at times, struggle to keep faith, hope and trust, for they do. But deep down, they understand and accept, never questioning, “ why me”? They might even ask at times they are weakened when it will end and why it has to go on so long without ceasing, but never do they question why it is happening.
Unlike those who complain, who deny God and change things to make life much easier, those who suffer the greatest understand these things are lessons sent to us, they help strengthen us. They know THIS is spiritual growth. THIS is nurturing one’s soul. THIS is the purpose of life.
To accept what can’t be changed, to never question, to endure, to learn from, to be strengthened by it all and most of all, to make our love for God even deeper. It makes us know and understand that without God, we are nothing. That it’s His grace and mercy helping us survive such tribulations. It makes us give ourselves over to Him even more, to detach from this world growing instead more to a spiritual world and way of being we hope to reach on leaving here.
Some things in life can be changed, other things never should be. Anything we change that are of God’s laws is going against God and not for Him. Any Church leader who changes God’s laws to pander to man is not a true leader or follower of God, he, or she, is a leader and follower only of mankind.
Our aim in life is to grow in love for God, to endure and grow from the lessons sent to us here on earth. To battle against Satan and his temptations set to lead us further from God and more to the wants and greed of materialism no matter the cost to ourselves and those we may hurt in the process.
When we have detached more and more from this world and all it offers, we are growing closer to God. We are becoming more as Him, how He asks us to be. While we remain focused only on life here and all it brings us, the further removed we remain from God.
If you say you love God, follow Him and obey Him, ask yourself if you accept your struggles, sadness, badness aimed at you and thank Him for the lessons they bring you. Ask yourself if those trials bring you closer to God or take you further from Him. Ask yourself what the purpose of your life is then reflect and contemplate to see if it’s a life being fulfilled in its spiritual purpose as it should be.
Will you stand up and fight for God, will you obey Him doing everything He asks of you, or are you someone who chooses which bits you do and don’t like? Is the leader in faith a strong, good leader, or a weak one who teaches hardly nothing and guides even less? Seek and thou shalt find, knock and the door will be opened to you.
Now is the time to seek and knock. Now is the time to show which side of the spiritual battle you’re on, but whichever side you choose, you have to do it with your whole heart, mind and body. No half in half out. It’s the whole way or it’s no way. It’s your choice to make.
