A group for all faiths and none – to share loving thoughts or prayers to those who need them
Prayer really is the most precious of gifts we can give to another person. Not only can we pray for people, but we can also offer prayers for animals, various countries, or the world in general.
We don’t need anyone’s permission to pray for them and yet those against prayer try to tell us we do. Prayer is a gift, just like any other, but with two differences, it is free of charge and is offered to God, not the person we are praying for. As it is not being given personally to the person who may not believe in God or prayer, they cannot reject it.
God knows everyone’s needs, but sometimes, He is just waiting for us to ask Him to step in and help. He could step in without us asking, and often does, but there is a reason He sometimes waits for us to ask. That reason is due to Him giving us the chance to grow in faith and trust in Him; to show we know prayers are answered and that we have faith in His goodness and mercy.
The one thing we must not do, but that practically everyone does when praying, is to put demands on Him by asking for only the one outcome we desire. After all, that outcome we’re asking for might not be in the person’s best interest in the greater scheme of things – or in ours if the prayer is for oneself.
When praying to God, we must always add the words, ‘Your/Thy will be done’. We must add them, because ultimately it is God’s will what becomes us, but we should still have faith that even if the final outcome isn’t as we hoped, He will have answered us.
Examples of how He seems to ignore prayer, but hasn’t and just answered us in another way, is in the case of the sick or dying. We all ask for a miracle and for the person to be saved, but this isn’t always possible. In those cases, when a person dies, we think God never answered our prayers, but did He?
He could have answered in one of three other ways. He may have eased their suffering and helped them be free of pain. It might be He gave them a peace and acceptance of what was to come – and to those who prayed. He might even have given them a little more time in order to say final goodbye’s, to put everything in place, or He could even have ended their suffering sooner than anyone expected.
Never place demands or limitations on God when praying to Him. Trust in Him to do what is right and you’ll find your prayers are answered far more than you first thought they were. Look back at other prayers you may have said in the past that may not have had the outcome you desired and you’ll possibly see they were answered after all, just not how you expected them to be at the time.

Prayer brings people together, it does not divide. Purity of heart is what matters, not different faiths or religions. God loves unity, not division and this is a group where people of all faiths or none is welcome to share their love, healing and prayers to those in need.
